Off-duty NYPD officer arrested in Queens, allegedly choked ex-girlfriend

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested in Queens on Sunday after allegedly choking his girlfriend.

Eric Ramos, 33, was arrested at 8 p.m. Sunday in the 111th Precinct, which covers Bayside, Auburndale and other parts of northeastern Queens.

Ramos got into a fight with his ex-girlfriend and choked her, according to police.

The condition of the ex-girlfriend wasn’t immediately known.

Ramos was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, assault, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.
