
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An officer responding to a man's NYCHA apartment in Harlem was slashed Tuesday morning, according to authorities.
Officials who were called for an "emotionally disturbed person" arrived at the apartment of 32-year-old Kevin Joseph located inside the King Towers on West 115th Street at around 9:30 a.m.

Police said Joseph was "acting erratic[ally] and behaving in a violent manner" when they arrived at his residence.
Officers attempted to take him into custody so that EMS could transport him to an area hospital but Joseph became violent and pulled out a kitchen knife and slashed a 30-year-old cop in the wrist and puncturing her thumb.
Authorities were able to recover the knife and arrest Joseph.
Joseph was arrested and charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
The officer was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, cops said.
An investigation is ongoing.
