
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — About 8,000 bees were captured and removed from the side of 3 World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan late Saturday night, police said.

A detective from the NYPD's bee keepers was called for a swarm of bees at the building on Greenwich Street, officials said.

"Thankfully, a quick response from @NYPDBees resulted in the safe capture of our flying friends who were relocated without incident to an apple orchard," the NYPD tweeted.
The bees were removed and relocated to an apple orchard, NYPD officials said.
