Surveillance images released by the NYPD on Wednesday show the suspect running down a crowded subway platform after the Dec. 29 robbery in University Heights.
Police said a 54-year-old man was aboard a northbound 4 train at the 183rd Street subway station around 5:30 p.m. when the thief forcibly removed the phone from his hands.

The crook then fled the train with the phone when the doors opened at the station, police said.
No injuries were reported in the robbery.
