NYPD searching for suspects in brutal East Harlem assault

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for two individuals in connection with an assault that occurred on Feb. 2 in East Harlem.

A 31-year-old man got into a dispute around 8:30 p.m. with the male and female suspects which escalated into a physical altercation, police said.

The two individuals chased the victim into the street, punching and kicking him throughout his body causing him to lose consciousness, officials said.

Police said a vehicle, which was not involved in the incident, made contact with the victim while he lay in the street which caused serious head injuries.

EMS responded and transported the victim to Harlem Hospital in serious but stable condition.

The two suspects fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.

During the time of the incident, surveillance video captured images of the individuals.
