
New York (1010 WINS) — A passenger was killed when a drunk driver crashed into a tree on the Cross Bronx Expressway early Monday morning, police said.

Aimee Calderon, 36, of New Jersey, was speeding south on the highway around 1:46 a.m. when she lost control of her vehicle while attempting to take exit 4 toward the Bronx River Parkway, according to police.
Calderon slammed her 2020 Hyundai Elantra into a tree while carrying two passengers inside, police said.
Responding officers found passenger Omar Webber, 33, of the Bronx with internal injuries. Webber was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
Both Calderon and another passenger, an unidentified 36-year-old woman, were transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Calderon, who lives in Bellville, has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired, police said.
