
WEST HEMPSTEAD (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a motorist who hit a man lying in the street in West Hempstead and sped off on Friday.
A witness saw the man lying in the street on Woodfield Road around 3:40 a.m. and tried to render aid, but as he approached a sedan hit the man and drove away, the Nassau County Police Department said.
The hit-and-run is being investigated by the homicide squad.
Police are asking anyone with information on the hit-and-run to call the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911.
