NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The Queens man accused of repeatedly hacking and slashing his nephew to death was charged on Monday and confessed to the grisly murder.

"I chopped him up. He wanted to kill me," Mahadeo Suhnandan, 50, told police, according to court documents obtained by the Daily News. "After everything I do for them, his whole life he’s wanted to kill me."
Suhnandan was charged with second-degree murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said Tuesday.
Suhnandan allegedly became "embroiled in an argument" with his 29-year-old nephew, Neraz Roberts, who was renting the basement unit from Suhnandan within their shared Jamaica apartment, around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the charges.
The 50-year-old allegedly used a machete to strike Roberts multiple times, Katz continued. He was cut in the back, neck and sustained other injuries, causing his death.
Queens Assistant DA Kenneth Koo said Roberts called the FDNY because the basement had flooded, according to the report.
He then allegedly admitted to grabbing his Cutlass, "a machete with a wooden handle," before he "kicked open the door" and "chopped him three times."
"I paused between the second and third chop and said, ‘You want to kill me?’ I leaned back for leverage on the third chop," Suhnandan added.
His lawyer reportedly tried to argue that it was Suhnandan's first offense.
"I know it’s a doozy, but he has no record," the lawyer said.
Sukhnandan was ordered held without bail and is due back in court on Friday.
He faces 25 years-to-life in prison if convicted.
