NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Over 50,000 people marched in the Queens Pride Parade on Sunday after two years off due to the pandemic.

Mayor Eric Adams, every City Council Member and over 125 different organizations joined in the festivities for the parade's 30th anniversary.

This year’s grand marshall was City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams.

Participants marched down 37th Avenue from 89th Street to 75th Street in Jackson Heights.

Planning for the first Queens Pride Parade started in 1992 to honor the life of Julio Rivera, a gay man from Queens who was murdered by three skin heads in 1990.

It’s the second oldest Pride march in the city.
