NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The remains of a fatally shot woman were found in a Staten Island home this week, police said Thursday as they launched a homicide investigation.
At approximately 1 p.m. on Monday, April 3, police responded to 77 York Ave. in New Brighton to investigate a complaint about possible human remains at the location.
Upon executing a search warrant, officers discovered the woman's body with gunshot wounds to the torso.
There are no arrests and police have deemed her death a homicide.
The identity of the woman is pending proper family notification.
The investigation remains ongoing.
