NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Authorities are investigating the death of a woman, and her dog, who were found fatally shot outside a smoke shop in Brooklyn Sunday night.

The incident happened around 9:45 p.m. when officers responded to a call of a woman shot in front of the Salim Smoke Shop, near the intersection of Dekalb and Franklin avenues, in the Clinton Hill neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they discovered 36-year-old Jennifer Ynoa with a gunshot wound to the torso, unconscious and unresponsive.
Ynoa was transported to Brooklyn Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

An investigation later revealed that she, and her dog, had been shot inside the smoke shop.
Her dog, a brown and white pit bull, was also pronounced dead.
PETA on Tuesday said it will be offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who shot Ynoa and her pet.
“This dog suffered both the agony of being shot alongside his guardian and the helplessness of being unable to protect her, as loyal dogs invariably want to do,” said PETA Senior Vice President Colleen O’Brien. “PETA urges anyone with information to come forward so that their killer can pay the price for this horrific crime.”
Police said Tuesday that the suspect is a man between 30 and 40-years-old who was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and pants.
