Upon arrival, officers observed a 67-year-old driver with sustained body trauma at the incident location.

EMS responded to the scene and transported him to Brookdale Hospital, in critical condition.

EMS also transported a 33-year-old woman, and her 4-year-old daughter, who were passengers in a second car, to Mount Sinai Hospital.

Both were in stable condition with complaints of pain.

Additionally, EMS transported a 42-year-old driver of a third vehicle involved in the incident to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition with complaint of pain as well.

Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad determined that the first vehicle, a 2003 Toyota Camry, operated by the 67-year-old man, was traveling along Ralph Avenue, approached the intersection of Avenue L, and entered a designated left turn lane, disobeyed a steady red traffic signal at the intersection of Avenue L, and proceeded along Ralph Avenue.

The Camry then side-swiped an NYC MTA Bus that was traveling southbound on Ralph Avenue.

After the impact with the bus, the Camry was re-directed toward the northbound lane of Ralph Avenue and collided, head-on, with a 2015 Ford F-350 pick-up truck, which was headed northbound on Ralph Avenue at the intersection of East 66th Street.

The driver of the Camry may have experienced a medical episode, according to officials.

There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
