Suspect sought in shooting of 3-year-old girl leaving daycare

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 3-year-old was shot on a Brooklyn sidewalk Friday after a suspect fired multiple bullets at a man loading his toddler into the backseat of a car, police said.

The incident happened in front of 127 Riverdale Avenue at 6 p.m. when a man started shooting at a 28-year-old man who was putting his 2-year-old son in the backseat of a vehicle, cops said.

Another man was walking on the sidewalk nearby, leaving daycare with his 3-year-old daughter who was caught in the fire. The child was hit in the right shoulder with a bullet, authorities said.

The girl was taken to Brookdale Hospital by police and later transferred to Maimonides Medical Center in stable condition.

The shooter fled the scene with a getaway driver in a white 4-door BMW sedan.

The NYPD is searching for the suspect described as having a dark complexion, wearing a black mask over his face, a black hooded sweater with the word 'waves' on the back and black jeans.
