
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Police are searching for two men in a string of scams where seniors were contacted via telephone and told that a family member was arrested and needed money for bail.
The first incident happened at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, when an unknown person contacted an 83-year-old man.

A person met the victim at his home located in the vicinity of 59th Avenue and 223rd Street in Bayside, and collected approximately $5,000 from him.
That person was last seen entering a gray Infiniti sedan.
An investigation determined that the victim's family member was not in any legal trouble, and the victim gave the individuals the money in good faith based on false statement and promises.
A 77-year-old man was contacted in the second incident that occurred just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8.
An individual met the victim at his home located in the vicinity of 12th Avenue and 49th Street in Hell's Kitchen, and collected approximately $10,769 from him.
That person was last seen entering a gray Infiniti sedan. An investigation determined that the victim's family member was not in any legal trouble, and the victim gave the individuals the money in good faith based on false statements/promises.
On Thursday, June 9, at approximately 10 a.m., a 74-year-old woman was contacted and met by an individual at her home located in the vicinity of 91st Avenue and 212th Place in Queens Village after having requested $6,800.
Police said the victim had been able to contact her family member in advance and determine that she was being scammed.
The victim did not give the individual any money and he fled in an unknown direction when the victim stated that she was going to call the police.
An 88-year-old woman was contacted during a fourth incident at around 11:30 a.m. on June 9.
An individual met the victim at her home located in the vicinity of 18th Avenue and 62nd Street in Borough Park, and collected approximately $13,900 from her.
The individual was last seen entering a light colored Infiniti sedan.
An investigation determined that the victim's family member was not in any legal trouble, and the victim gave the individuals the money in good faith based on false statements/promises.
