Teen fatally stabbed by cousin in grandmother's Brooklyn home: NYPD

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- A teen was taken into custody for allegedly stabbing another teen to death during a dispute over money inside a Brooklyn apartment on Wednesday morning, officials said.

Just before 8 a.m., police responded to a 911 call at 98 Troy Ave. in Crown Heights where officers observed 18-year-old Jahmer Wilson-Freeman, unconscious and unresponsive with a stab wound to his chest.

EMS responded to the location and transported Wilson-Freeman to Interfaith Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Wilson-Freeman was stabbed to death by his 18-year-old cousin inside of their grandmother’s apartment building, the Daily News reported.

The dispute began inside their grandmother’s apartment and then spilled into the hallway. The grandmother was home at the time of the incident, authorities said.

The 18-year-old male was taken into custody and charges are pending.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

The investigation remains ongoing.
