Teen asks man, 81, for directions to Brooklyn bus then sucker-punches him in face: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for a teen who they say asked an 81-year-old man for directions to a Brooklyn bus on Tuesday afternoon and then sucker-punched him in the face.

The victim was walking on E. 27th Street, near Avenue X, in Sheepshead Bay just after 4:20 p.m. when the teen came up and asked him, “Where is the B44 bus?”

As the man was giving the teen directions, the teen punched him in the face, police said.

The teen then took off southbound down E. 27th Street towards Avenue Y, according to police.

The man suffered bruising to his face, police said. He refused medical attention at the scene.

The NYPD released surveillance images of a suspect on Wednesday.
