NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An off-duty NYPD officer was robbed of his gun and police identification in the Bronx early Wednesday, authorities said.

Around 12:30 a.m., the 23-year-old parked his car on Garrison Avenue and Barretto Street in Hunts Point when the attack happened, cops said.
The man approached the victim from behind with a black gun and wrestled the officer’s firearm and wallet away from him, police said.
Inside of the wallet was the victim’s NYPD identification as well as credit cards and cash. The stolen gun was a Glock, according to authorities.

No injuries were reported as a result.
The suspect is described as bring in his 30's, medium build, black hair in an Afro style and last seen wearing a black shirt, black shorts, white sneakers, a black face mask and a fanny pack around his chest.
