VIDEO: Trio in car fires projectile at man in suspected anti-Jewish hate crime in Brooklyn: police

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Three men in a car fired a projectile at a man as he walked down a Brooklyn street in what’s being investigated as a suspected anti-Jewish hate crime, police said Thursday as they released video of the attack.

The 23-year-old victim was at Montgomery Street and Albany Avenue in Crown Heights around 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 11 when the trio drove up in a dark-colored Hyundai Sonata with silver wheels, police said.

A man in the vehicle fired an unknown projectile at the victim, who was wearing traditional Jewish garb, according to police.

The victim suffered a laceration to the left side of his head. He was taken to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the assault.

Surveillance video shows the attack, as well as the three men police are searching for. Police believe all three are between 20 and 30 years old.
