$1.3M in jewels, $90K nabbed from West Village apartment; duo sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are seeking two men who broke into a 72-year-old man's Lower Manhattan apartment and stole over $1 million worth of watches and jewels in addition to thousands of dollars in cash.

Once inside the West Village unit near Morton and Bleecker streets, the duo stole around $90,000 in addition to $1.3 million worth of watches and jewelry.

The pair fled the location in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee, heading eastbound on Bleecker Street, police said.

The man did not sustain any injuries as a result of the incident. It wasn't immediately clear if the man was inside the apartment at the time of the burglary.
