NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A thief punched and then robbed a 77-year-old woman of her purse and Bible in broad daylight on a Queen street this week, police said.
The NYPD released video of the brazen robbery on Tuesday as they searched for a suspect.
The woman was walking on a sidewalk near 36th Avenue and 21st Street in Astoria around 12 p.m. Sunday when the thief struck her in the face, police said.
The thief then pulled the woman into a parking pay station while stealing her purse and Bible, according to police.

The suspect was last seen fleeing eastbound down 35th Avenue on foot, police said.
The woman suffered lacerations to her hands, according to police, who said EMS evaluated the victim at the scene and that she refused medical attention.
