NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Multiple New York City motorists have been threatened or assaulted in a carjacking spree that involves armed men rear-ending vehicles and then attacking their occupants, police said Wednesday.

The carjackers struck at least four times across Brooklyn and Queens over a two-week span in October.

In each case, a victim’s car was rear-ended, and when they got out to check on their vehicle, they were confronted by armed carjackers who threatened or assaulted them.

The first carjacking linked to the spree was on the morning of Oct. 15, when a 27-year-old man driving a Ford sedan was rear-ended by a white vehicle at 194th Street and 112th Avenue St. Albans. When he exited his car, multiple men menaced him with a firearm and fled in his vehicle.

The thieves struck again in the early morning hours of Oct. 19, when they targeted a 67-year-old man who was driving a Mercedes-Benz SUV at Linden Place and 31st Road in Flushing. The Mercedes was rear-ended by a vehicle, whose occupants punched and kicked the victim before stealing his car.

A third driver was carjacked on the morning of Oct. 21. Police said the 52-year-old man was driving a Ford sedan at Egan and Elton streets in East New York around 2:30 a.m. when an Infiniti Q50 sedan rear-ended his car. As in the other robberies, multiple men got out of the Infiniti and punched and kicked the victim. They then stole his cellphone and his car, police said.

In the most recent robbery, on Oct. 27, a 40-year-old man behind the wheel of a BMW sedan was rear-ended by a black sedan at Atlantic Avenue and Hendrix Street in Cypress Hills at 12:30 p.m. The victim confronted multiple men in the car, who threatened him with a gun and stole his vehicle.

Video of the Oct. 27 carjacking shows the victim being robbed in broad daylight after he got out of his car to confront the crooks.

None of the victims were seriously injured, but the driver in the third robbery was hospitalized in stable condition for multiple lacerations to his body.

No arrests have been reported in connection with the spree.
