NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – An MTA worker was punched in the face at a Manhattan subway station—one of three attacks on transit workers over a nine-hour span on Wednesday.

Video released by the NYPD on Thursday shows the on-duty MTA worker near the turnstiles at the 14th Street/Sixth Avenue station in Chelsea around 12:40 p.m. as two men approach him through an emergency gate.

The first man pushes the worker, whose bag then appears to bump the second man, video shows.

That’s when the second man raises his fist at the worker, who blocks him with his arm. The man then throws a sucker punch, hitting the worker’s face and knocking him to the ground.

The worker suffered damage to his teeth and a laceration to the inside of his mouth, according to police.

He was transported to Lenox Hill Hospital for treatment, while the suspect remains on the loose.

Several hours earlier around 6:15 a.m., a woman was arrested after pushing and injuring an on-duty MTA employee who was working at the Times Square–42nd Street station, police said.

A third attack happened around 3:50 a.m. at the Grant Avenue station in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, where a man punched an on-duty conductor twice in the face on a platform after the conductor told him the train wasn’t going to Euclid Avenue, the MTA told the New York Post.

The conductor suffered a swollen jaw and was taken to Jamaica Hospital, according to the report.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
