NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released tragic video Sunday of members attempting to rescue a Queens toddler and his parents who perished in Ida floodwaters.

The heartbreaking footage shows an officer wading through several feet of water in a Woodside home’s hallway as a teddy bear and other personal possessions bob nearby, according to the police.

The cop dives into the water but is pulled back out — the door to the apartment of Mingma Sherpa, 48, Ang Gelu Lama, 50, and their 2-year-old Lobsang Lama, 2, had been locked and the officer couldn’t gain access, the NYPD said.

“Without special equipment they made valiant efforts. Locked doors, rising water level & live electricity forced the officers to call for the [FDNY],” The NYPD wrote in a tweet sharing the video.

Authorities later confirmed the family had been trapped inside and died due to drowning — three of the 13 deaths recorded in New York City when the remnants of Hurricane Ida dropped record-shattering rainfall on the region.

Gov. Kathy Hochul on Sunday submitted a request for a major disaster declaration to the White House, saying Ida caused $50 million in damages to property and infrastructure in the state.

Hochul said roughly 1,200 homes suffered serious damage and promised “dramatic action” to fight climate change.
