NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The NYPD is searching for two suspects in a Manhattan attack involving anti-gay statements and a separate episode of vandalism of an LGBTQ Pride flag in Brooklyn. Both happened during Pride Month.
The NYPD released surveillance video Sunday in connection with the June incidents, which police said they're investigating as hate crimes.
Around 1 a.m. on June 25, police said a man struck a 22-year-old man on the side of the head and made anti-gay statements near W. 8th Street and Sixth Avenue in Greenwich Village.
The assailant fled on a bicycle, police said. The victim refused medical attention.

And on the evening of June 21, a man rolled up to a Pride flag hanging from a closed Brooklyn storefront and tore the flag down before casting it on the ground, video shows.
Police said the flag was torn down on Utica Avenue, near Dean Street, in Crown Heights around 6 p.m. The suspect fled on a blue scooter, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
