NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are searching for a thief who forced a 79-year-old man to the ground during a robbery on a Bronx street this week.
The NYPD released surveillance footage Thursday of the brazen, daytime robbery, which happened just after 11 a.m. Wednesday near E. 149th Street and Brook Avenue in Mott Haven.
Police said the victim was walking down a sidewalk and thumbing through his wallet when a man came up and grabbed the wallet.
The two men got into a struggle, during which the victim was thrown to the ground, video shows.
The victim suffered pain to his right shoulder but refused medical attention.
The thief fled on foot with the wallet, which contained a bank card, $60 and an ID, police said.
