NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A thief punched a woman in the face, threw her to the ground and stole her wallet in an early-morning ambush on the Lower East Side, the NYPD said.
The 29-year-old woman was walking in front of a building at the corner of Stanton and Chrystie streets around 5:10 a.m. when the male thief approached her from behind, punched her in the face and threw her down, surveillance video shows.

After the thief attacked the woman, he stole her wallet, which contained credit cards and $130 in cash, police said.
He fled west on Stanton Street after the attack, the NYPD said. The woman didn’t report any physical injuries after the incident, according to police.
