NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – New video Friday shows then-GOP mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa being struck by a yellow taxi near Rockefeller Center last week.

Sliwa, who lost to Democrat Eric Adams in Tuesday’s election, was rushing to a radio interview last Friday afternoon when he was struck by the cab on Sixth Avenue.
Video obtained by the New York Post shows the Guardian Angels founder running through traffic in his signature red jacket and beret before crossing paths with the cab, which strikes him and sends him crashing to the pavement.
The 67-year-old gets up moments later with the help of someone at the scene. He briefly gestures to the cab driver before walking away.

Sliwa apologized to the cabbie during the radio interview, saying it was his fault he was racing to get there.
“I flew in the air about 6 feet, scurried up, started running in order to get here in time,” Sliwa said. “I just want to relieve that cab driver cause I'm sure he probably thought that he had killed me. And it was my fault. He had nothing to do with this at all as I was trying to beat the light and get to the other side before the changeover.”
Nancy Sliwa said her husband was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital, where he was diagnosed with a fractured left arm, which required a sling that he was still wearing when he cast his ballot on Election Day.
