NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A woman jumped to her death from a Times Square hotel’s rooftop bar Wednesday afternoon, police said.

According to officials, a 26-year-old woman was at Bar 54 on the 54th floor of the Hyatt Centric on West 45th Street near Seventh Avenue at around 3:30 p.m., when she got up, walked out to the terrace and stood up on a piece of furniture next to the glass railing before jumping.

The woman fell 27 floors before landing on a 27th-floor balcony below, the NYPD said.

She was found unconscious and unresponsive on the balcony and pronounced dead by emergency responders at the scene.

The city's medical examiner will determine the woman's official cause of death.

Bar 54 remained closed for the rest of Wednesday.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether the woman was staying at the hotel or just visiting the rooftop bar.

“We are deeply saddened by the situation that occurred this afternoon at our hotel and our thoughts go out to the individual’s family and those who have been affected,” Hyatt Hotels Corporation general manager Tom Blundell said in a statement.
