Woman, 29, found dead in vestibule of Queens building; person of interest in custody: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police launched an investigation after a woman was found dead in the vestibule of a building in Queens late Monday night, authorities said.

At approximately 11:23 p.m. on November 1, police responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress inside of 55-26 Main Street in Flushing.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 29-year-old woman, unconscious and unresponsive, within the vestibule area of the residential building.

EMS responded and pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

A 52-year-old male, person of interest, was transported to the precinct for questioning, the NYPD said.

The Medical Examiner will determine the victim's cause of death and an investigation remains ongoing.

The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
