NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A homeless man was arrested for allegedly striking a 70-year-old woman in the head with an unknown object in an unprovoked attack in Manhattan last week, the NYPD said.
Michael Hensley, 37, who lives at a shelter in Kips Bay, was arrested and charged with assault on Monday, police said Tuesday.
The victim was on E. 14th Street, near Second Avenue, in the East Village around 10:40 a.m. when Hensley allegedly came up and struck her in the head with an object, police said.

Police said EMS took the woman to an area hospital, where she was in stable condition with an abrasion to her wrist and elbow.
Hensley's attorney information wasn't immediately available Tuesday.
