
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Officials are investigating after a woman was punched in the face and robbed in a random attack on an Upper West Side train Monday night, authorities said.

According to police, at around 9:40 p.m. the 23-year-old victim was aboard a northbound 3 train at West 72nd Street and Broadway when she was suddenly punched in the face by a woman who then grabbed her cellphone.
The suspect then fled through the train cars, the NYPD said.
The victim was refused medical attention, police said.
An investigation remains ongoing.
