Woman who repeatedly pepper-sprayed MTA bus driver in Manhattan sought

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released a photo on Tuesday of a woman they said pepper-sprayed an MTA bus driver in Manhattan last month, authorities said.

Police said that at approximately 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 23, a 52-year-old bus driver on a westbound Mx66 MTA Bus was approached by the suspect who then pepper-sprayed him multiple times and proceeded to throw the pepper spray can at him.

The suspect exited the bus in front of 155 West 66th Street in Lincoln Square and fled eastbound West 66th Street on foot, officials said.

The bus driver sustained minor injuries was treated by EMS on scene.

The suspect is described as a woman with a dark complexion, black hair, and a heavy build. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, multicolored scarf and dark-colored pants.

An investigation is ongoing.
