NEW YORK (1010 WINS) --  A yellow cab driver was injured over the weekend after a drag racer, going approximately 100 mph, crashed into his vehicle in midtown Manhattan, police said Tuesday.

The collision happened at around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, at Fifth Avenue and West 44th Street.

Golam Uddin, 51, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition.

He suffered a fractured collarbone, patella and several ribs after his vehicle was dragged for nearly a block following the crash, cops said.

Police arrested Hamza Salman, 27, and charged him with assault, reckless endangerment and participating in a speed contest or race.

“I caught the red light and I hit the taxi,” Salman said, according to a Manhattan Criminal Court complaint. “It wasn’t red when I hit it. It was yellow and the taxi was in the middle lane and I hit it.”

The driver he was racing fled the scene, according to the NYPD.

Salman, a Queens resident, was arraigned Sunday and released under supervised release.
