HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — Nassau County police busted a 20-year-old man in two killings on Long Island last year.
Gerson Hernandez is charged with second-degree murder for the July 19, 2022, shooting death of 21-year-old Walter Ochoa Jr. at Uniondale Avenue Park, police said Tuesday.
Police have also charged him with second-degree gang assault for the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man at a Hempstead McDonald's on Peninsula Boulevard on Sept. 14.
Hector Manuel Valencia Gomez was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Hernandez was slated to be arraigned on both charges on Tuesday.
