Man, 24, arrested in Virginia for fatal Jersey City shooting

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A 24-year-old man was arrested in Virginia on Thursday for a fatal shooting in Jersey City on Saturday, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

Brandon Montague allegedly shot 34-year-old Tyreef Robinson on Bergen Avenue near Van Nostrand Avenue around 10:10 p.m. on March 4.

Police arrested him in Newport News, Virginia Thursday and charged him with murder and weapon offenses.

He’ll be held at Newport News Jail pending extradition to New Jersey.
