NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A man was charged after getting caught with firearms, ammunition, a bulletproof vest, and a fake U.S. Marshals badge at Newark Liberty International Airport late last year, authorities announced Monday.

Seretse Clouden, 42, was charged with unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition by a convicted felon and fraudulent possession of an identification document and authentication feature of the United States.

He made his initial court appearance today in Newark federal court and was detained, officials said.

TSA agents searched Clouden’s bags Dec. 30, and found an expandable baton, a spring loaded knife, a taser, a .40 caliber Glock 22 handgun, a .308 caliber rifle and an AR-15 rifle, officials said.

The AR-15 "meets the definition of a machine gun," according to federal prosecutors.

Agents also discovered false "United States Marshal" credentials with Clouden’s name and photograph as well as a badge. Clouden has never been a U.S. Marshals employee, authorities said.

Clouden was arrested before boarding a flight to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was previously convicted in Bergen County of unlawful possession of a weapon in 2016.
