Masked attacker flees NJ park after teen girl kicks him in leg: officials

NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- A masked man fled a New Jersey park on Tuesday after a teen girl kicked him in the leg during an attempted attack, officials said.

According to Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura, ar around 7:15 p.m. the 14-year-old girl was with her parents at Branch Brook Park in Newark when the attacker walked up to her and pulled her hair when the teen turned around and kicked her attacker in the leg.

Fontoura described the attacker as a dark-skinned man who is approximately 6 feet tall, weighs about 180 pounds, and had “hairy legs.”

The girl told sheriff’s deputies the attacker was wearing a lime green short-sleeved shirt, with red basketball shorts and possibly a black mask.
