WATCH: Bidens, Harris, Emhoff celebrate Hanukkah with White House menorah lighting

WASHINGTON, D.C. (1010 WINS) -- President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were being joined by the first lady and the second gentleman to celebrate Hanukkah at the White House Wednesday evening.

A menorah was lit in the East Room of the White House in honor of the holiday, which is on its fourth day Wednesday.

Dr. Jill Biden and Douglas Emhoff were also there for the festivities. Emhoff was beaming with joy and excitement at leading the event, which presented a milestone.

“To think that today I’m here as the first Jewish spouse of an American president or vice president celebrating Hanukkah in the people’s house … it’s humbling," he said.

All four spoke about fighting against anti-semitism and keeping light to “illuminate a path forward.”

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer was also in attendance, and helped light the menorah.
