WASHINGTON, D.C. (WCBS 880) — Data to determine the rollout of Moderna and Johnson & Johnson booster shots should be delivered to federal regulators in “weeks,” President Joe Biden's chief medical adviser said on Sunday.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, said the key data will allow the Food and Drug Administration to advise on the rollout of additional shots for Americans with Moderna and J&J shots.
"The actual data that we'll get (on) that third shot for the Moderna and second shot for the J&J is literally a couple to a few weeks away," Fauci said on NBC's "Meet the Press.”
Fauci added he understands if Moderna or Johnson & Johnson recipients “feel left out,” but assured the Biden administration was paying close attention to their vaccines.
"They're not being left behind by any means," he said.

The booster rollout is being prepared during a surge in coronavirus cases — largely among the unvaccinated — due to the spread of the highly infectious delta variant.
Fauci also noted that the White House is still weighing whether it would mandate vaccines for domestic air travel.
"We have not yet gotten to the point of requiring vaccinations on domestic flights, but everything is on the table," he added. "We consider these things literally on a daily basis. So suffice it to say, it's still on the table right now."
