WOODLAND PARK, N.J. (WCBS 880) – The body of a missing 15-year-old boy was found in a New Jersey reservoir on Sunday, less than a day after the teen was "cliff jumping" with friends in the area.

The Paterson boy, whose identity has not been released “out of respect and privacy of the family,” went missing while swimming at the Great Notch Reservoir in Woodland Park on Saturday afternoon, Mayor Keith Kazmark said.
Woodland Park police received a report around 3:45 p.m. Saturday that the teen had gone swimming at the 30-acre reservoir but never returned.
Police and fire units from Clifton, Hawthorne and Wayne assisted in the search until nightfall.
The search resumed Sunday morning, when a scuba team from the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office located the body of the 15-year-old around 10 a.m.
The boy's body was found “within the vicinity” of where he was last seen on the southern end of the reservoir, Kazmark said.
Woodland Park police Capt. Michael Brady told NJ.com that friends of the 15-year-old had informed officers that they were “cliff jumping” when the boy jumped into the water and struggled to swim.
The friends tried to rescue him but “were being pulled down and were unable to secure the victim,” Brady said.
Kazmark said an “investigation into what led to this will continue in the coming days” as officials look into the teen's cause of death.
