EDISON, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A Jewish Community Center in Edison was evacuated on Wednesday after receiving a bomb threat, according to police.

The JCC of Middlesex County received the threat over the phone, authorities said.

The community center was given the all clear in the early afternoon.

Edison Police told News 12 the threat “seems consistent” with similar recent incidents.

The FBI put synagogues in New Jersey on alert last week after receiving "credible information of a broad threat." The agency announced Friday that authorities had identified the source of the threat, though, and said there was no longer a risk to the Jewish community.
