
MONTCLAIR, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A 23-year-old Newark man was arraigned for a 2021 armed carjacking on Tuesday, the Department of Justice announced Friday.
Prosecutors charged Andy Cook for a Dec. 6, 2021 carjacking in which two men held a woman at gunpoint in her driveway and stole her car in Montclair.
Police spotted the stolen vehicle after the robbery, and Cook got out and ran.
Officers gave chase and arrested him.
Prosecutors charged Cook with carjacking, conspiracy to use a firearm during a violent crime and using a firearm during a violent crime.
He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison with a mandatory minimum of seven years.
