PASSAIC, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A 42-year-old New Jersey man has been charged with sexually assaulting two children at a Passaic home and was later caught after school staff members contacted authorities, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said Thursday.

Pedro Perez-Guadalupe, of Clifton, is charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, first-degree kidnapping, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree hindering apprehension regarding one child under age 13.
Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit was contacted on April 6 by school staff members to report that a child had disclosed being sexually assaulted in the past by Perez-Guadalupe.
Multiple witnesses were interrogated by detectives from the prosecutor's office, including an alleged victim who disclosed being sexually assaulted by Perez-Guadalupe on multiple occasions at the residence.
During the investigation, a second child also accused Perez-Guadalupe of sexually assaulting them multiple times at the same residence.
He was ultimately arrested on Wednesday and charged, Valdes said.
Perez-Guadalupe is currently being held at the Passaic County Jail. The prosecutor's office has filed a motion to keep him detained, which will be heard early next week.
