WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (1010 WINS) — A New Jersey man was arrested this week at a Florida airport after he said he had a bomb in his bag, authorities said.

John Magee, 66, was overheard making the threat as he boarded a flight at Palm Beach International Airport Tuesday just after 5 p.m., the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said.

The terminal was evacuated, and law enforcement searched the concourse as well as the Frontier Airlines flight to Philadelphia that Magee was scheduled to board, but nothing suspicious was found, NJ.com reported.

The sheriff's office said passengers were allowed back in the airport concourse around 8 p.m.

Magee, of Carneys Point, is charged with making a false report about a bomb, a second-degree felony.

He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail Tuesday night and released on a $30,000 bond just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, online jail records show.

According to WPBF.com, another passenger told investigators that they noticed Magee repeatedly slam a large bag on the ground as he boarded the plane and heard him say, "You don't know what you are in for" and "I have a bomb in the bag."
