Authorities first issued a warrant for the arrest of Juan Franciso Aguillon, now 43, in 2003 for the aggravated sexual assault of a juvenile in Alexandria Township.

By 2013, Aguillon was placed on the New Jersey State Police Most Wanted List and remained a fugitive at large, police said.

In May 2018, police who were still pursuing the case discovered that Aguillon had fled the country which led to authorities eventually tracking him down in Mexico based off of intelligence obtained through the Real Time Crime Center South.

Aguillon was living in Mexico City where he was arrested by members of the United States Marshals Foreign Field Office on May 7. He was turned over to Mexican Authorities and is pending extradition back to the United States, officials said.
