NJ man pleads guilty to fatally shooting mother of 4 who rebuffed his sexual advances

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (1010 WINS) — An East Orange County man pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter charges for the 2020 shooting of a Jersey City mother of four who refused his sexual advances after he groped her, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office announced on Thursday.

Thaddues Williams, 39, groped Aieshia McFadden, 36, in a store and proceeded to fatally shoot her when she told him no on Dec. 4, 2020.

The shooting took place in front of J & R Liquors and Wines on Martin Luther King Drive near Bidwell Avenue around 8:30 p.m.

Emergency responders rushed McFadden to Jersey City Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Williams was initially charged with murder, weapons offenses and criminal sexual contact. He pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of aggravated manslaughter.

He faces up to 20 years in prison at his sentencing, which is scheduled for Oct. 21.
