The victim and 20-year-old Julian Ogle had been in an ongoing dispute when the victim showed up to Ogle’s East Pleasant Grove Road home on Wednesday afternoon.

According to an investigation, the victim parked his car across the street from Ogle’s home and walked over, yelling at him from the street to come outside.

Ogle eventually did come outside and grabbed a machete from a car parked in front of the house. The victim then grabbed a beach chair from the car after he saw Ogle with the machete, police said.

Both of the men began swinging the items at each other during which the victim was hit multiple times with the machete, officials said.

The fight was ultimately broken up by people who were not involved but stopped to intervene, cops said.

Investigators also learned that several other people in Ogle’s home were involved in the fight. The other suspects kicked the victim while he was on the ground and pulled a woman from the victim’s vehicle, threw her to the ground and assaulted her.

After leaving the scene, the injured victim drove away with other people and flagged down a police officer on Frank Applegate Road. The group directed the officer to Ogle’s home, naming him as the man responsible for slashing him with a machete.

The victim was treated at the scene and then transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Officers later found a machete with evidence from the attack on it at Ogle’s house and were shown a video of the attack.

Ogle was arrested and charged with second degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
