According to NJ.com, the trouble began after one filmed allegation was seen by some parents reportedly showing a younger Crimson Knights of Wall High School player being hazed with a broomstick by approximately six older members of the school's football team.

Members of the team allegedly attempted to pin down the student and threatened to sexually assault the teen with a broom, two parents of students who saw the clip told the outlet. Parents also allege there have been other hazing incidents.

On Tuesday, Wall Township Board of Education President Ralph Addonizio confirmed an investigation was launched within the school's football program and that they "immediately contacted the appropriate authorities."

The planned state playoff game set for Friday was canceled Wednesday, school district superintendent Tracy Handerhan announced, and three coaches have also been suspended.

“Because of this pending investigation, and after consultation with the board counsel, administration and the office of the Monmouth County Interim Executive County Superintendent, the football game scheduled for this Friday is canceled," she wrote.

A spokesperson for the New Jersey Education Association also confirmed the suspensions Thursday to NJ.com.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, the lead agency in the investigation, issued a statement not confirming or denying details of their probe.

"Please be advised that juvenile records are by their nature confidential, and therefore we cannot confirm nor deny any details about this matter at this time."

NJ.com reported Thursday evening law enforcement agencies are also investigating alleged sexual assaults of multiple female students at the school in a separate probe.
