NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A New Jersey State Police sergeant is accused of groping a teenage girl inside of a hotel while off-duty, officials said.

The 45-year-old Howell man, David DeJesus, allegedly invited the 14-year-old girl to his room at the Ramada Hotel & Conference Center in State College, Pennsylvania, on April 22, authorities said.
DeJesus and the victim were both at the hotel attending a wrestling tournament. The victim, who goes to the same school as DeJesus' daughter, was at the hotel with her father, according to court documents.
The girl said she asked DeJesus to buy her some alcohol after seeing him drinking near the hotel pool. DeJesus allegedly gave her an alcoholic drink and then invited her into his hotel room where she drank a bottle of beer he also gave her, according to an affidavit.
DeJesus was suspended without pay from his role as Sergeant First Class with the New Jersey State Police and charged with indecent assault without consent, indecent assault of a person less than 16-years-old, selling/furnishing liquor to a minor and unlawful contact with a minor.
The sergeant was arraigned Thursday and released on $27,500 unsecured bail. He will return to court on July 6.
