LACEY, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A woman from Lacey was indicted for the fentanyl overdose death of her two-year-old son on Wednesday, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
Natalie Sabie, 35, was in charge of her toddler and two other children when she found the two-year-old unresponsive on Sept. 7 and called police, according to officials.
Paramedics tried to save the boy’s life but could not revive him. He was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River, where he was pronounced dead.
On Oct. 12, a post-mortem toxicology report found fentanyl in the child’s system.
Two days later, Sabie was arrested for her son’s overdose. On Wednesday, she was indicted for aggravated manslaughter, endangering the welfare of a child and possession of fentanyl.
She’s been held at Ocean County Jail since her arrest.
